Wall Sculptures

Wall sculpture gives a room dimension that flat art can't — shadow, depth and texture that shift as the light moves through the day. StudioLX carries abstract, botanical, geometric and figural wall sculptures in metal, wood, resin and mixed media, largely from Uttermost.

Scale and placement. A wall sculpture over a sofa or console should span roughly two thirds of the furniture width. Hang the center at 57 to 60 inches from the floor, which is standard gallery eye level. Multi-piece sets read best with 2 to 3 inches between elements.

Mounting. Metal sculptures are heavier than they look. Anything over 15 pounds should go into a stud or a rated toggle anchor rather than a drywall hook.
