Add Elegance to Your Bathroom Using Bathroom Vanities
Bathroom vanities can be added to your space for aesthetic and practical reasons. These utilitarian fixtures are great investments if you want to save space and at the same time keep your bathroom organized. Here are some things to keep in mind when you are in the market for a new vanity unit:
• Consider the space you have. Measure your bathroom twice before making the purchase. Check to see how much counter space you have and the amount of storage space you actually need. Take note of the dimensions of the area where you want your vanity to be installed.
• Know how many sinks you will need. If space is not an issue for your bathroom, vanities with double sinks are ideal, especially for a shared bathroom. However, single vanities are very common as most bathroom spaces are small, making double vanities impractical.
• Choose the best mounting option for your vanity. There are three major types of vanities according to the way they are configured. These are free standing, wall-mounted, and corner-mounted vanities. Free-standing vanities are standard and perhaps the most common. They resemble a chest and they are the best option if you want to maximize storage space. Wall mounted vanities can hang or float on the wall without the need for legs touching the ground. This helps you open up your floor space and add separate storage bins if you can’t do away with them. Corner mounted vanities on the other hand, are the best option if you really want to save space. They feature a 90-degree angle, which fits perfectly into bathroom corners.
• Finally, choose the type of sink that best suits your needs. Bathroom vanities usually feature under-mounted sinks, which allow for a cleaner and sleeker appearance, along with self-rimming and vessel-type sinks.
